ABSTRAKPenelitian tentang teknologi pengolahan zirkon terus dilakukan untuk mengikuti kebutuhan industri pasar. Pengolahan natrium zirkonat dengan pelindian menggunakan asam klorida sebagai pelarut telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari pengaruh ukuran butir, temperatur, dan kecepatan pengadukan terhadap zirkon terambil. Penelitian dilakukan dengan memasukkan pelarut (asam klorida 4 N) ke dalam reaktor, kemudian pelarut tersebut dipanaskan sambil diaduk. Umpan dengan ukuran butir tertentu dimasukkan ke dalam reaktor. Kondisi temperatur dan kecepatan pengadukan dijaga tetap. Setelah kondisi operasi tercapai, proses dihentikan kemudian disaring. Hasil penelit ian dengan analisis XRF menunjukkan bahwa kondisi proses optimum dicapai pada ukuran butir 90 µm, temperatur 80
PELINDIAN LEBURAN PASIR ZIRKON KALIMANTAN MENGGUNAKAN AIR PANAS BANCH SCALE. Telah dilakukan pengambilan silikat menggunakan cara pelindian air panas banch scale dengan bahan baku pasir zirkon Kalimantan. Perangkat ini terdiri atas bejana sebagai reaktor dengan kapasitas 800 ml, dilengkapi pemanas dan pengaduk. Mula-mula dimasukkan pelarut (air bebas mineral) sebanyak 600 ml, kemudian dipanaskan sambil diaduk. Setelah temperatur tercapai, dimasukkan umpan. Temperatur proses dan kecepatan pengadukan tetap. Apabila kondisi tercapai, proses pelindian dihentikan, kemudian hasil dipisahkan. Si dalam padatan maupun filtrat dianalisis menggunakan AAS. Penelitian ini mempelajari pengaruh temperatur, waktu dan kecepatan pengadukan pelindian. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa temperatur pelindian optimum pada 80oC kecepatan pengadukan 200 rpm dan lama pelindian 60 menit. Pada kondisi tersebut silikat terambil 84,60 %.
