The increasing complexity of interconnected power system has brought challenges to detailed dynamic simulation in terms of computational effort. Therefore, for transient stability assessment, dynamic equivalents of parts of large-scale system are required to capture the electromagnetic transients. This paper presents a review of past research on dynamic equivalencing using coherency-based methods and system identification methods. Future topics are discussed to improve the state-of-art approaches.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
