Energy management system (EMS) is a modern methodology in smart households' advancement that build collaboration among end-users with their home appliances to operate automatically, multifunctionally, adaptably, and efficiently. EMS is categorized into several applications; battery energy management is an eminent application on smart grid applications. Such an approach is responsible for cost minimization during peak hour operated loads with various optimization methods and different adaptive controllers, which are described. Applications of EMS based different topologies are recommended with issues on these techniques have also been analyzed. Results obtained on EMS using optimization methods and battery EMS using fuzzy and PI controllers are demonstrated. Finally, based on the review, potential future scopes in this topic have been identified, and future research directions in this context are pointed out.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
