Synthesis of macrocyclic metal complexes of Cr(III) and Fe(III) by the condensation of benzil dihydrazone with 1H-indole-2, 3-dione.The metal complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, thermal analysis, ESR, infrared, 1H NMR and UV-visible spectroscopy. On the bases of these studies, a fivecoordinate square pyramidal geometry is proposed for all the metal complexes. In vitro antibacterial activity of macrocyclic metal complexes exhibited good results.
The complexes of N-(2-hydro~y-l-naphthalidene)anthralliIic acid abbreviated (II,NA) with some trivalent rare earth elements (Pr, Nd, Srn, Gd, Dy, Er and Yb) were prepared, The complexes were characterized by chemical and thermal analysis, ir and conductimetric methods. Two types of ionic complexes; Ln(Hr\AhOH.2H,O with Dy, Er and Yb, and Ln(H:-JA),OH with Pr, Nd, Sill and Gd were isolated. Coordination of the ligand with metal. ions occurs through the carboxy group and the nitrogen atom. The acid dissociation constants K , and K2 of H,NA and the overall stability constants fi, and {3, of some lanthanide complexes in 75% (vjv) dioxan-water solutions were determined by the potentiometric method.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
