-086Valence Isomerization of Norbornadienes Containing a Carbonyl Group.-Norbornadienes such as (III) and (VII) are found to undergo isomerization to tetracyclic compounds of type (IV) and (VIII) on irradiation. Treatment of the tetracyclic compounds with TFA or MoO3 leads to the starting norbornadienes. -(CHERNOIVANOV, V. A.; DUBONOSOV, A. D.; BREN', V. A.; MINKIN, V. I.; GALICHEV, S. V.; SUSLOV, A. N.; Zh.

Synthesis and Photoinitiated Isomerizations of 3-(4-Nitrophenyl)and 3-(4-Aminophenyl)bicyclo[2.2.1]hepta-2,5-diene-2-carbaldehyde and -2-carboxylic Acid Derivatives. -A variety of the title bicycloheptadiene derivatives [cf. (III), (IV)] are synthesized and transformed into related azobenzenes [cf. (V)]. Irradiation of these azobenzene derivatives in weakly polar solvents induces fast E/Z-isomerization, while irradiation in the region of their absorption maxima results in reversible valence isomerization with formation of the corresponding quadricyclanes [cf. (VI)]. -(DUBONOSOV, A. D.; GALICHEV, S. V.; CHERNOIVANOV, V. A.; BREN', V. A.; MINKIN, V. I.; Russ.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
