A novel method for measuring the linewidth of each laser and channel spacing in a multichannel transmission system is presented. Using the dependence of the Stokes frequency shift on the pump wavelength in stimulated Brillouin scattering, we are able to construct a delayed self-heterodyne interferometer that can measure the linewidths and channel spacing simultaneously.
Abstract---In response to rapidly increasing demands on mobile and satellite communication services, microwave devices using ferrite materials have received much attention from scientific communities around the world. This paper presents the design and fabrication of the microstrip isolator operating at the frequency band of 2.15GHz. The isolator was designed to reduce the size by the magnetic wall ridges. The commercial software using a 3D finite element method was used to analyze the scattering matrix of the microstrip isolator. Polycrystaline garnet was used for ferrite substrate. The isolator shows insertion loss 0.2dB, return loss 30dB, isolation 30dB at 2. 1 5GHz.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
