This paper presents design of an ozone generator by using solar cells as energy source. 12 V dc from solar panels is transferred and converted to dc voltage -8kV with ripple frequency of 15 kHz. It was tested and compared with normally negative dc in terms of the capability of ozone production. Air is passed through electrode sets to split and recombine to form ozone by corona discharge. For electrode design, concept is based on gas ionization in highly non-uniform field [3]. Point-to-plane electrodes are selected, are tested to find out the appropriate one. The prototype system can generate ozone gas from air approximately 20 mg03/hr.
This paper presents a design and construction of a low v-!tage cable fault location detector. The principle of design is based on the reflection of waves. Pulse is sent into the defective cable and it is reflected back. Interval of travelling waves is identified in order to determine fault location and fault types. The prototype consists of pulse generator, wave detection circuit, counter circuit, control and processing part, and display unit based on a microcontroller. All are assembled in a small compact size. Also, the portable detector is suitable for outdoors. In addition, it is more safety when compared to a conventional high voltage impulse method. It has been tested and found that the error of fault location is within -t 5% .
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
