Streptomyces cinnamonensis produces butyraldehyde, isobutyraldehyde and valeraldehyde in concentrations of 9–39 μg ml−1, with the average molar ratio being 22:33:45. These aldehydes, excreted into fermentation broth or agar, were derivatised with 2,4‐dinitrophenylhydrazine, isolated, and their structures were determined by 1H, 13C NMR and mass spectrometry. The highest production of aldehydes was observed in surface cultivation on agar.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
