Resumo: A realização de atividades físicas de alta performance requer condicionamento corporal compatível com a exigência muscular requerida. Á busca pelo melhor desempenho em atividades físicas tem sido objeto de muitas pesquisas nos centros de excelências por diversos pesquisadores, tanto para o treino pessoal em academias, como para os esportes. Para os atletas, tal condicionamento se torna ainda mais necessário, visto que surge uma característica competitiva em obter o melhor desempenho sem causar lesões decorrentes do próprio processo de treinamento desenvolvido. Assim, com o propósito de auxiliar na reabilitação de indivíduos que apresentam comprometimento motor, de evitar lesões e de obter um aprimoramento no desempenho de atletas, a proposta deste trabalho foi desenvolver um equipamento de medição preciso, a baixo custo, que monitore o desempenho de determinado conjunto muscular responsável pela elevação e retração da musculatura posterior e inferior da coxa de indivíduos. Esse sistema de medição consiste no controle do esforço muscular isométrico máximo, visando a análise do treino realizado pelo atleta ou praticante de atividades físicas de alto desempenho, a prevenção de lesões e a melhoria do desempenho do indivíduo ao executar tais atividades. A metodologia aplicada consistiu na aplicação matriz do desdobramento da função qualidade (QFD), para o desenvolvimento do projeto e produto. O resultado deste trabalho consistiu no projeto e construção de uma cadeira isométrica para aferição dos esforços resistivos do grupo muscular posterior e inferior da coxa em indivíduos. IntroduçãoDesde a antiguidade o ser humano apresenta constante necessidade de obtenção de informações e padrões como resposta ao desempenho humano em atividades físicas. De acordo com Escobar (1990), as avaliações musculares eram realizadas por meio de resistências manuais e observações de marcha e postura. No início do século XX, com a maior ocorrência de casos de poliomielite, a qual afetava crianças e adultos, viu-se necessário a padronização dos métodos de avaliação muscular, conhecidos como métodos manuais. A partir disso, é possível dizer que estes métodos de medição podem ser diretamente associados a medições de tensão, força, deformação e torque, sendo as células de torque e dinamômetros analógicos, considerados os dispositivos mais viáveis para tais medições. Segundo Dvir (2002), esses dispositivos são aplicados, na sua maioria, em contrações isométricas máximas, priorizando a avaliação do momento máximo da força ou torque. Além disso, são instrumentos que, além de proporcionarem avaliações precisas, são acessíveis a ambientes clínicos devido ao baixo custo e prático manuseio.Diversas lesões são causadas em decorrência do não monitoramento da fadiga e desequilíbrio muscular, contribuindo para a limitação funcional de indivíduos.
