The aim is to investigate the influence of sambo wrestling classes on the level of morpho-functional development and health of students during their studying. Materials and methods: The investigation was conducted in Zhytomyr National Agroecological University in 2017–2019. Ninety four students (51 male and 43 female) took part in the research. Two experimental and two control groups were formed: EG1 (n=25) and CG1 (n=26) involved male students, EG2 (n=21) and CG2 (n=22) – female students. The classes of EG were held according to the authors’ methodology, the classes of CG – according to the current physical education program. The analysis of the indicators of weight, height, lungs capacity, handgrip test, heart rate, blood pressure, body mass index, life index, power index and Robinson’s index was performed. The interrelation of students of EG and CG was defined according to the health levels at the beginning and at the end of the investigation. Results: It is determined that sambo wrestling classes had a positive influence on the students’ muscles system improvement, increased lung capacity, reduced body mass, improved cardiovascular system, and improved health. Сonclusions: The improvement of the indicators of morpho-functional development and health of students during sambo wrestling classes will have a positive influence on their physical working capacity and the efficiency of their studying and future professional activities.
Abstract:Objective: According to WHO, about 30 % of people in the world are overweight that allows to characterize this disease as a new non-infection "epidemic" of the XXI century. More than 500 million people in the world are overweight and 250 million are obese. There is a clear tendency to increasing of alimentary obesity among people with different age, sex and nationality. The aim of the study is to investigate the thioldisulfide homeostasis in liver tissue, adipose tissue and erythrocytes in the pathogenesis of experimental alimentary obesity. Materials and methods: 60 males, non liner, white rats around 3 months of age with alimentary obesity were examined during the study. Experimental obesity was modeled by administering of sodium glutamate to the feed mixture in a ratio of 0.6: 100.0 and adding high-calorie diet. The glutathione redoxsystem activity in erythrocytes, liver and adipose tissue were analyzed by the level of reduced glutathione (GSH), oxidized glutathione (GSSG), glutathione reductase (GR) and glutathione peroxidase (GP) activity. Results and Discussion: The data indicate a decrease in GSH level within 14 days of the experiment in all investigated tissues. The same trend was observed in animals on 28 th day of the experiment: GSH index decreased in blood, adipose tissue and liver (P<0.05). The index of GSSG have increased on 28 th day of the experiment in all investigated tissues vs control group (P<0.05). The ratio of the reduced and oxidized forms of glutathione contents was much lower vs control group in all the studied tissues within 28 days of the experiment. During additional investigation of the activity of thiol-disulfide system enzymes it was found that reducing the concentration of GSH in rats with alimentary obesity was due to the lack of thiol-disulfide system enzymes activity: GP and GR, which take part in the regeneration of GSH from GSSG. Conclusion: experimental alimentary obesity is characterized by a reduced redox state in blood, adipose and liver tissues, which is determinative in increasing the free radical reactions and accumulation of highly toxic lipoperoxides in the tissue substrates.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), otherwise known as the Global Goals, are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. These 17 Goals build on the successes of the Millennium Development Goals, while including new areas such as climate change, economic inequality, innovation, sustainable consumption, peace and justice, among other priorities. The goals are interconnected – often the key to success on one will involve tackling issues more commonly associated with another. The collaboration with I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University (TNMU) and the Faculty of Nursing MacEwan University students and teachers in the realization of the Sustainable Development goals proposes the possibilities to study and change the professional practice and nursing education. Co-creation involves strategy: nurses making a difference in the health of global communities. 25 students spent one week at TNMU, focusing on global/planetary health issues and SDGs. Participants include faculty members and Ukrainian students as well as International students from several countries (including Canada, Ghana, Nigeria, and India). Instruction focused on interactive learning and included flipped classroom format, seminars, team-based learning and field clinics coordinated by MacEwan faculty members in partnership with the TNMU members. Through interactive learning in an international setting, students developed a shared understanding of how people relate to each other and to their environments, compared Canadian and Ukrainian approaches to the Sustainable Development Goals, and created space for understanding different ways of knowing and how these enhance health and wellbeing. The face-to-face format of the trip was invaluable in enhancing emotional and informal learning as well as developing capacity as global citizens. The course provides an excellent foundation for students who wish to pursue graduate studies in global health either in Nursing or in Public Health.
The article presents topical issues of currently usage of innovative methods in education processe of nurses in higher medical educational establishments. It provides a new method of debriefing, which is an important component of clinical simulation. An application of didactic approaches to clinical education through debriefing can help in adequately preparation of students to promote their practical activities because of the need to combine knowledges with basic clinical skills.
