This article examines the history of silkworm breeding, the role of silkworm breeding in the national economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the role of silkworm breeding in the development of the industry. This is because the interrelationship of traits of economic value is of great importance in selection and breeding work. The experiments were conducted in 2015-2017 at the Silk Research Institute of Uzbekistan. The life expectancy of the experimental butterflies was 10.9-12.8 days and the variability was 33.9-56.6%. The coefficient of variability indicates the degree of diversity in the population on this trait. Thus, it is clear from the results that the population of “Marvarid” and “Liniya 27” has the ability to carry out selection work on the sign of life expectancy of female butterflies.
In this article, the current state of silkworm breeding in Uzbekistan is highlighted by the fact that cocoons, raw silk and silk products grown are not competitive enough. About the role of selection in increasing the volume of cocoon cultivation and improving its quality. This includes ways to influence the genetic characteristics of newly created breeds and their hybrids, which contribute to the improvement of cocoon productivity and technological performance. The importance of population-specific laws, as well as the methodology of experiments, the degree of interdependence of selection traits, experiments in two groups of silkworm breeds and systems, in three gradations, and the results obtained on them. Prospects for the application of experimental results in science and practice are also discussed.
The creation and introduction into production of new breeds and hybrids that meet the needs of the world market and industrial enterprises through the development of selection methods for breeding stations and seed enterprises is of great scientific and practical importance. In this regard, the work of a number of local and international scientists is devoted to the selection and creation of new breeds and hybrids of mulberry silkworm on the basis of leading selection traits. The effectiveness of the artificial parthenogenesis method developed in our laboratory is that the effect applied suppresses the reduction division of egg cells. Also, the parthenogenetic genus immediately receives the same set of chromosomes and genes. However, ♀ clone × ♂ hybrid worms have a high viability, the cocoons are the same in shape and other characteristics, there is no work on the separation of the primary parent breed (parthenoclonus) for hybridization (because it consists of 100% only females), breeding at all stages work is not done (because all parthenoclon females are genetically the same and do not change by generation). It is also possible to obtain all the cocoons of parthenoclon in the extraction of cocoons, as their genetic homogeneity completely eliminates the sorting of cocoons in breeding stations and seed plants.
