The Sivers parton distribution function has been predicted to obey a particular "universality relation", namely to have opposite sign in semi-inclusive deeply inelastic scattering (SIDIS) and the Drell-Yan process. We discuss how, on the basis of present HERMES data, this remarkable prediction of the QCD factorization approach to the description of single spin asymmetries related to the Sivers effect could be checked experimentally in future experiments at PAX and COMPASS.

In a recent review of 58 patients with perforating granuloma annulare [l] the subjects had a woman:man distribution similar to that of granuloma annulare, but an older age of onset (mean age of onset was 31 years). In the same study, subjects with diabetes had a higher mean age of onset: 54 years. The subjects had predominantly disseminated lesions, mainly on the extensor surfaces of the extremities, characterized by multiple papules and umbilicated or crusted lesions. Pustule-like lesions and scars also appear in perforating granuloma annulare and are more frequent in the generalized form.The association between diabetes mellitus and granuloma annulare is still controversial but reported in some studies as 30% [2-51. In a review of subjects with perforating granuloma annulare [l] the prevalence of diabetes mellitus was 17%. Some clinical cases were described as provoked by diabetes mellitus [2,6] and resolved with regulation of glucose levels.The treatments are multiple and disappointing and it seems that no treatment is as useful as treatment [l]. In a recent review spontaneous remission occurred in 77% of cases.Our case of perforating granuloma annulare was associated with diabetes mellitus.
