Hollow microspheres composed of organic-inorganic hybrid wall (polyorganosiloxane) have been synthesized as a new material in a W/O emulsion system from organosilanes. The average diameter of spheres for a typical run is 1.8 μm (standard deviation = 0.84) with a large spherical cavity in them and thermally stable at least up to 400 °C in air. The polyorganosiloxane wall is amorphous and becomes porous by treating at around 400 °C in air.
We present the detection of a blackbody component in GRB 160107A emission by using the combined spectral data of the CALET Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (CGBM) and the MAXI Gas Slit Camera (GSC). The MAXI/GSC detected the emission ∼45 s prior to the main burst episode observed by the CGBM. The MAXI/GSC and the CGBM spectrum of this prior emission period is well fit by a blackbody with the temperature of 1.0 +0.3 −0.2 keV plus a power-law with the photon index of −1.6 ± 0.3. We discuss the radius to the photospheric emission and the main burst emission based on the observational properties. We stress the importance of the coordinated observations via various instruments collecting the high quality data over a broad energy coverage in order to understand the GRB prompt emission mechanism.
Background: Transfer of infants who no longer need intensive or specialized care from tertiary to community hospitals or clinics contributes to efficient bed utilization in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Methods: A retrospective analysis of the records of all 1,503 infants admitted to our NICU during the past 6 years (from April 2013 to March 2019) was performed to evaluate the impact of interfacility neonatal transport for convalescent care. Results: During the study period, our NICU accepted 33 infants from other tertiary NICUs and transferred 103 infants to other hospitals or clinics before their home discharge for convalescent care. Our NICU covered 39% of the total hospital days of infants accepted from other NICUs. Of the infants transferred to other facilities, 81% of infants born at our hospital were born to mothers transported to our obstetric department as imminent high-risk deliveries; 94% of infants born at other hospitals were moved back to the referring facility. Conclusions: Interfacility neonatal transport for, both accepting and transferring infants for convalescent care has become an integral part of NICU practice to bridge the gaps between higher level care facility and home. Establishment of well-defined transfer criteria and appropriate allocation of medical and staff resources among relevant facilities is desirable.
A planer graph whose all faces (including the outer faces) are rectangles is called a 2D floor-plan. An algorithm to enumerate 2D floor-plan based on reverse search method has been proposed by Nakano. However, an algorithm to enumerate 3D floor-plan which is consisted of some small cuboids isn't known yet. In this paper, We propose an enumeration algorithm of 3D floor-plan based on reverse search method by extending Nakano's algorithm. Also by 7).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
