Brachychthoniidae). {Acarologica Genavensia CVII). -All published records and newly determined Swiss moss mites belonging to the family Brachychthoniidae are listed, discussed or described. From the 25 named species in the literature 16 are confirmed after critical discussion. New identifications of 28 species are given: 2 of which (Liochthonius tumidus sp. n. and Liochthonius tumulosus sp. n.) are new to science, 15 species are new for the Fauna of Switzerland and 5 are confirmations for the Swiss territory of doubtful species in the literature. As a synthesis a preliminary list of 36 Brachychthoniidae species belonging to 8 genera from Switzerland is given.
Oribatids from Madagascar IV (Acari: Oribatida). -Oribatida material collected in Madagascar by a scientist of the Muséum d'histoire naturelle, Genève was studied. Twenty species are listed, six of them are new to science: Mesoplophora (P.) madegassica, Masthermannia hauseri, Caveremulus foliaceus, C. salicinus, Ambrobates translamellatus and Vilhenabates ambohitra. The new genus Ambrobates gen. n. is established in the family Scheloribatidae. Taxonomical notes on rare or little known species and a key for identification of Caveremulus species are given.
A list of newly collected and identified oribatids from Kenya is presented, two of them represent new genera; Sceletoppia gen. nov. (Oppiidae) and Mahnertozetes gen. nov. (Haplozetidae). Twelve species, belonging to the families Steganacaridae, Lohmanniidae, Tetracondylidae, Microzetidae, Zetomotrichidae and Galumnidae are new to science. Taxonomical notes on two other species are given.
New and interesting mites from the Geneva Museum LX. Oribatids from Sabah (East Malaysia) II (Acari: Oribatida). -36 species are identified, 23 of them and 1 subspecies are described as new to science. For 4 species it was necessary to estabUsh new genera: Berndotritia gen. n. (Oribotritiidae), Sabahtritia gen. n. {Sabahtritiidae fam. n.), Suctotegeus gen. n. (Microtegeidae) and Interoppia gen. n. (Oppiidae). The taxonomical importance of the peloptoid chelicera and the labiogenal articulation are emphasized and zoogeographical considerations on the Oribatid fauna of South-East Asia, including New Guinea, are given.
