This volume, which contains six separate articles in the area of electron spectroscopy, is the first in this series to contain articles on topics other than photoemission in the ultraviolet and X-ray ranges. Indeed, the first chapter by Urch on X-ray emission spectroscopy is not strictly on electron spectroscopy at all, although there is much in common in terms of the available information with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (X.P.S.) and this connection is clearly made in a chapter which includes a useful discussion of the experimental aspects of this techniqbe. The following two chapters by Celotta and Huebner and by
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
