A regeneração natural é o principal mecanismo para o restabelecimento da estrutura de uma floresta alterada. Assim, no presente estudo avaliou-se a dinâmica de regeneração de Astronium graveolens, Astronium lecointei, Manilkara elata e Carapa guianensis, em 144 hectares explorados na Floresta Nacional do Tapajós, com propósito de aumentar o conhecimento sobre o comportamento dessas espécies na área. Os dados foram coletados em cinco ocasiões no período de 31 anos, em 240 parcelas de 5 m x 5 m, distribuídas aleatoriamente. Os resultados mostraram que: Astronium spp precisa de tratamentos silviculturais para aumentar a população em regeneração natural na área; Carapa guianensis pode se estabelecer e desenvolver naturalmente após exploração florestal na área, sem a necessidade de tratos silviculturais; e Manilkara elata necessita de acompanhamento silvicultural para eliminar espécies que podem competir com o seu desenvolvimento, seja em grandes aberturas seja em áreas sombreadas.
