ChemInform Abstract Titanocene dichloride (I) reacts with the thiocresolates (II) to give the monothiocresolate derivatives (IIIa) and (IIIb). The methyl analogues (IIIc) and (IIId) are prepared correspondingly from chloro(methyl)titanocene in 51% yield. The 1:2 molar reaction of the dichloride (I) with the thiocresoles (IV) in the presence of NEt3 leads to the bis(thiocresolate)titanocene compounds (V). The thiocresolate complexes obtained are characterized by IR, 1H NMR, and mass spectra.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
