ChemInform Abstract is performed by XRD, DTA, and FTIR spectroscopy. Amorphous aluminas with high surface areas are prepared by thermal decomposition of Al(NO3)3•9 H2O in the presence of tartaric acid. Hydrothermal treatments of these amorphous aluminas further increase the surface area and favor the crystallization. FTIR characterization of the surface cationic sites obtained using pyridine as probe molecule shows the presence of three different Lewis sites on the alumina surface.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
