Bobble-head doll syndrome is a rare and unique movement disorder encountered in children. It is characterized by continuous or episodic involuntary forward and backward and side to side movement of the head at the frequency of 2-3 Hz. Neuroimaging in most of the cases reveals third ventricular tumors, suprasellar arachnoid cysts, aqueductal stenosis and other lesions in the region of the third ventricle along with communicating hydrocephalus. In most of the circumstances, the problem starts in the first decade of life and diversion of cerebrospinal fluid by shunt operation is very often accompanied by dramatic improvement. We report one case where bobbing of the head started at around 12 years of age. Additionally, there was evidence of partial left abducens nerve palsy, tremor in the outstretched hands, difficulty in finger-nose test and tandem walking, hyperreflexia and extensor plantar response. He was unconscious on two occasions and there was evidence of gross hydrocephalus along with a thin membranous web, running transversely across the lower part of the aqueduct of Sylvius without any cerebrospinal fluid flow void. Ventriculo-peritoneal shunt abolished the abnormal movements. We propose that the aqueductal web was the offending agent for the pathogenesis of bobble-head doll syndrome in our case and this lesion has not been identified in the cases reported so far. Relevant literature in this regard has also been reviewed.
Background: Breast cancer is one of the most common cancer in women. BC represents a heterogeneous group of tumors that are diverse in behavior, outcome, and response to therapy.
Aims and Objective: The present study was undertaken to assess various clinical parameters and to evaluate correlation with histo-pathological grading in breast carcinoma patients.
Materials and Methods: The study was conducted in the Surgical outpatient department and Indoor surgical wards of Deben Mahato Sadar Hospital (DMSH), Purulia, West Bengal from July, 2019 to December, 2020. 104 patients with diagnosis of BC aged between 20 years to 80 years were selected.
Results: Among 104 patients, 41.3% patients were in the group of 41-50years. This study revealed that the patient had mostly IDC i.e. 78.8% and had triple negative BC (51.9%). Association of HPE vs. Stage, subtypes vs stage and Tru-cut biopsy vs HPE were statistically significant.
Conclusion: The study showed that breast cancer tends to present in middle aged women and positively correlate with the present markers of bad prognosis.
Background: The risk of disordered coagulation in surgical jaundice is well recognized with the most frequently observed abnormality being prolongation of the prothrombin time(PT).In this study we have to find out the effectiveness of single dose vitamin k in surgical jaundice patient. Methods: IN all122 patients were selected from May 2018 to October 2019 in B S Medical College and Hospital,Bankura ,and were divided in two groups. One group was treated with single dose intra mascular vitamin K and other group was treated with intra mascular Vitamin K once daily for 3 days. Result: Average age of the participants was 58.60±11.06 years. In PT & INR report, the mean was 19.23 ±1.71 &1.82 ±0.19 before intervention. Both types of interventions showed similar efficacy. Conclusion : Both modes of vitamin k therapy were proved to be useful for treating of surgical jaundice patient with deranged coagulation profile
