A new DC/AC Power I n v e r t e r , f o r use i n standalone p h o t o v o l t a i c systems, based on t h e High Frequency Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation p r i n c i p l e , has been developed. The switching frequency i s 25 KHz, t h e nominal b a t t e r y voltage i s 48V,the output voltage i s p u r e l y sinusoidal 22OV (RMS) -50 Hz and the r a t e d power i s 1.5 KW. The i n v e r t e r i s modular, having an e f f i c i e n c y always over 85% f o r a l l loadi n g conditions. The semiconductor switches are Power MOSFETs and t h e power transformer i s of a high frequency f e r r i t e -c o r e type. The power stage i s o f PUSH-PULL topology and a special symmetry c o r r e c t i o n c i r c u i t has been incorporated i n order t o avoid saturation. The i n v e r t e r i s capable of supplying AC power for h e a v i l y i n d u c t i v e loads, because a path has been provided f o r the r e a c t i v e power t o r e t u r n back t o the b a t t e r y . T h i s i n v e r t e r has e x c e l l e n t output voltage r e g u l a t i o n and frequency s t a b i l i t y , i s noiseless, l i g h t weighted, has small s i z e and e x h i b i t s an excel l e n t dynamic response.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
