The preparation of eleven heteropolytungstate anions, X2ZW17062H2z-(X = P or As; Z = Mn, Co, Ni, or Zn) is described. These include the first heteropolyanions with MnI'I as heteroatom. The stabilities of the anions towards acid and base, and the redox potentials and magnetic moments of the Z heteroatoms are reported, and the formulation of the anions and their spectra are discussed.
BAKER and his co-workers have describedl a series of = N P , CoII, and Co"' . Further experiments heteropolyanions XYWllO,,H,~-, and have shown suggest that the replacement of a tungsten atom that the second hetero-atom Y has replaced one in an XW,,O,Yanion (X = P, Si, Ge) by an atom tungsten atom in an anion XW,,O,,Ywith the of the first transition series is a quite general Keggin structure.2 We have recently prepared reaction,* occurring under conditions where the other anions of this series,3 including ones with 12-tungstate ion is partly degraded. X = P and Y = Ni" and with X = Ge and YThe anions X2W,,0,,s-(X = P or As) have
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
