*Autor que recibe la correspondencia: sbarolin@hotmail.com INTRODUCCIÓNLos sistemas cerámicos multifuncionales han despertado gran interés en los últimos años destacándose entre estos los materiales con propiedades ferroeléctricas y ferromagnéticas (multiferroicos) [1]. La posibilidad de tener disponibles sensores de doble fuente de excitación y actuadores, multifuncionales, abre un enorme campo de aplicaciones que excede el uso tradicional de las propiedades magnetoeléctricas. Estos materiales también tienen aplicaciones en sistemas de almacenamiento de datos y en dispositivos para spintrónica [2]. Desde el control de la fase magnética por medio de campos eléctricos [3] hasta el control magnético de la polarización ferroeléctrica [4], la magnetoelectricidad llega a ser un objetivo en la obtención de imanes ferroeléctricos [5] y al mismo tiempo tratar de explicar las causas de la ferroelectricidad en diferentes materiales con magnetoelectricidad [4] o la llegada de una nueva era en ciencia de materiales con el renacimiento de los magnetoeléctricos multiferroicos [2,5] Los sistemas más ampliamente estudiados corresponden a ferritas de Co (CoFe 2 O 4 ) o Ni (NiFe 2 O 4 ), con PZT, BaTiO 3 o LiTaO 3 o combinaciones de ambas ferritas y piezoeléctricos [6,7]. El procedimiento para la fabricación del material varía desde multicapas crecidas [8,9] entremezclando ambos materiales o mediante el desarrollo de un sistema de fabricación que permita la coexistencia de las dos fases activas conjuntamente (composite), [10,11]. Una de las formas posibles de conseguir la coexistencia de las propiedades o una propiedad nueva a Polvo de KNL-NTS con estequiometria (K 0.44 Na 0.52 Li 0.04 )(Nb 0.86 Ta 0.10 Sb 0.04 )O 3 fue preparado siguiendo el método convencional cerámico de mezcla de carbonatos y óxidos. La síntesis del polvo de KNL-NTS fue llevada a cabo en estado sólido a 700 ºC durante 3h. Para obtener muestras cerámicas con diferente porosidad, se llevó a cabo la sinterización de pastillas en un rango de temperaturas entre 1088 y 1125 ºC durante 2h en aire. Las muestras fueron caracterizadas estructural y microestructuralmente mediante DRX y MEB, y se determinó el grado y tipo de porosidad mediante porosimetría de intrusión de mercurio. Se investigó la influencia de la temperatura de sinterización en la porosidad y se evaluó el impacto de la misma en los ciclos de histéresis ferroeléctricos y la respuesta piezoeléctrica de las pastillas. La máxima densificación del material se consigue a 1125 ºC y la mejor respuesta ferroeléctrica, en pastillas sinterizadas a 1112 ºC. Por su parte, se observó que pastillas fabricadas en un rango de temperaturas inferior (1094-1100 ºC) donde la porosidad alcanza valores de hasta 15 % presentan buena respuesta piezo-ferroeléctrica, similar a la encontrada en las pastillas sinterizadas a 1125 ºC.
