AbstractThe increase in world population has also increased the demand for food and so does the demand for chemical fertilizers which are not only costly but also pollutants. The aim of this paper was to evaluate the effect of applying several candidate strains to plant growth promoters on growth and yield of tomato. The study was conducted in 2010, Tibaitatá Research Center (Corpoica) located in Mosquera (Cundinamarca, Colombia). The strains used were TVL-1 and TVL-2 identified as Enterobacter sp., also the strains Pseudomonas sp. PSO13, PSO14, and Bacillus sp. BEOO2 and BEOO3. The results demonstrated the intrinsic ability of the strains to solubilize a poorly soluble phosphorus source where the use of the strains TVL-1, TVL-2 and PSO14 showed the best results. The strains TVL-1, TVL-2 and PSO13 had phosphatase activity. Additionally, the bacteria were able to produce siderophore and indoles under the conditions evaluated. The greenhouse experiment showed that, the strains PSO14 and TVL-2 significantly increased biomass and plant development (p≤ 0.05) as well as fruit yield production that can be associated with biochemical capabilities associated with promotion of plant growth evaluated in the laboratory.
The objective was to evaluate 12 phosphate solubilizing strains (P0 4 ), isolated from the rhizosphere of Physalis peruviana L. on promoting growth of this crop. Pseudomonas sp. UVAG42, Bacillus sp. UVAG45, UVLO26 and UVLO22 were the strains producing more growth promotion under greenhouse conditions using 50% tricalcium phosphate (FT) with respect to an absolute control and 100% FT. These four strains were evaluated solubilization capacity of P0 4 , with different carbon sources associated with root exudates, and production of kinds. The results showed that all four strains have the ability to solubilize PO 4 , where best results (p< 0.05) were obtained in the presence of malic acid, and producing indoles. Correlation analysis between all variables showed an association between them (p> 0.05) does not exist, demonstrating that possibly promoting growth was brought to a defined integration of various capacities for plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPR). Our findings show that phosphorus solubilization process based on the use of sources of low solubilization as FT, accompanied by BSF may be a viable farming alternative Physalis peruviana L., reducing the economic, ecological and social costs of this crop of great economic importance to the country as an export product.
