Este artigo, comemorativo dos 25 anos da Associação Nacional de Pesquisa e Pós-graduação em Linguística (ANPOLL), traz um panorama dos principais temas que vêm sendo debatidosrecentemente pelo Grupo de Trabalho Teoria da Gramática (GTTG),que congrega pesquisadores dedicados ao estudo da gramáticadas línguas naturais sob abordagens formais. Com esse panorama,pretendemos dar visibilidade ao percurso que a teoria gramatical debase formalista vem desenvolvendo no Brasil (situando-a no cenáriointernacional), ao mesmo tempo em que pontuamos as perspectivaspara pesquisas futuras no âmbito do GT-TG.PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Teoria da gramática. Resumo O presente trabalho tem como principal objetivo a adaptação do experimento de Crain e McKee (1985) para o português brasileiro, com a finalidade de se observar a aquisição de estruturas com catáforas, a partir de uma abordagem inatista sobre aquisição da linguagem, com base na Teoria de Princípios e Parâmetros de Noam Chomsky (1981, 1986). A adaptação do experimento foi feita a partir de uma mudança no contexto das estórias originais, dando lugar a novos cenários e novos personagens, porém mantendo-se a mesma estrutura narrativa. A pesquisa foi aplicada em um grupo composto por 30 crianças, com idades entre quatro e seis anos. Os primeiros resultados analisados indicam que o experimento é válido para a observação do fenômeno em questão, visto que as crianças estabeleceram relações de correferência entre pronomes e expressões nominais, que é o caso das catáforas.
