BirthChoiceUK.com is a recently launched website aimed primarily at pregnant women to help them choose where to give birth. In our work as childbirth educators we are aware that the majority of women have very little information to assist them in making a choice for maternity care and place of birth. They are generally unaware that they even have a choice, or that the place they choose will profoundly affect the birth experience they have. A minority of women do arrange care directly. This is most often the case for women who have decided early on to have a home birth or a Domino (DOMiciliary IN and Out) birth, or are booking with independent midwives.
