ABSTRACTThe low quality of human capital is often seen as the cause of someone committing a crime in order to obtain economic gain. However, the development of the concept of social capital offers a new perspective in solving the problem of crime. The widely developed assumption regarding the relationship between crime and social capital is placing both on opposite sides-when the quality of social capital decreases, crime increases. This paper uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection uses in-depth interviews and observations. The purpose of this paper as an antithesis is to put forward the argument that the quality of good social capital actually implies accelerating crimetheft. Social capital which focuses on social relations will be seen as its role in constructing the crime subculture-theft. The argument in this paper leads to the conclusion that one's social relations have the potential to play a role in transmitting cultural elements of crime -theft.
