Die Ansiehten der einzelnen Nierenehirurgen fiber die Teehnik der Nephrektomie wegen Tuberkulose sind im grogen ganzen die gleichen, nur in einem Punkte dit~erieren die Magnahmen, das ist in tier Versorgung des Ureterstumpfes nach der Nephrektomie. Fast jeder Operateur hat eine andere Methode vorgeschlagen, ein Beweis, dal~ jeder irgendwelehe M/~ngel anhaften. Der Grund, weshalb gerade diesem Detail so viele Bedeutung zugemessen wird, ist der, dal~ bei mangelhafter Vorsicht in tier Versorgung des Ureterstumpfes die Heilungsresultate dureh langdauernde, Patient und Arzt qn~lende, und die Geduld beider auf eine harte Probe stellende Fistelbildungen verschlechtert werden. (Schmieden z/~hlte unter 817 Heilungen nach Nephrektomie 28 mit Fistelbildung, ,,nur ist es gerade hier wieder die Tuberkulose, welche die Statistik verdirbt; fast alle 28 F~lle betreffen Tuberkulose".) Diese Fisteln sind jedem Nierenchirurgen nur zu gut bekannt. Sie dauern oft jahrelang ttnd trotzen mitunter jeder Therapie. Exkochleation, Paquelinisierung, Atzungen mit Lapis usw., sind stets nStig und oft genug gleichfalls erfolglos. An unserer Abteihmg wurden die gleichen iiblen Erfahrungen gemacht; urspriinglieh, als tier Ureterstumpf einfach versenkt wurde, waren dauernde Fisteln fast die Regel. Als ein Fall an den Folgen tier Ureterversenkung verstarb, wandte sieh Prof. Zuckerkandl tier Ureterexstirpation zu, mit welcher die Resultate eine wesentliehe Besserung erfuhren. Erst als es sich erwies, alas die Vorlagerung des Ureters gleich gute Resultate ergab, wurde sie an Stelle der Ureterexstirpation methodisch geiibt.
