M ehr als Kants und Schillers Sätze über das Spiel der Kunst es nahelegen, ist die Auffassung der Ästhetik als Spiel informiert von vorästhetischen Regeln und Theorien. 1 Im Spiel der Kunst, könnte man sagen, geht es viel mehr um das Spiel, als die Theoretiker der Kunst glaubten. Auf das Spiel gemünzt kommen Spannungen und Probleme, die später als Fragen der Kunst galten, schon in Spezialerörterungen von Theologen, Juristen und sogar Mathematikern vor. Es geht dabei besonders um eine sakrosankte und eine zu regulierende oder sogar zu berechnende Unwahrscheinlichkeit: Es geht um eine Beziehung zwischen dem Zufall (der Frage von Ordnung und Unordnung) und Vergegenwärtigung (von Sinnunterstellung und Anschauung). Es geht darum, wie das Spiel, ein formales Arrangement von Zufallsereignissen, sich als Form zu verstehen gibt. Daß im Spiel mit dem Glück Züge von formbezogenem Vor-oder Nachspielen stecken, nahmen Ästhetiker seit Kant an, ohne es zu begründen. Gadamer und Derrida erwähnen es, aber es kommt nur als Vorklärung ihrer Begrififlichkeiten zum Zuge. 2 Dabei liegt hier die Unselbstverständlichkeit von Ästhetik als Spiel. Wahrscheinlich kann man ohne eine Voraussetzung, die Repräsentation und Kontingenz, Schau und Spiel zusammenbringt, gar keine philosophische Ästhetik betreiben. Es fragt sich dann aber, woher man es weiß und was dieses Wissen kostet. Der Schritt vom Spiel zum Schauspiel und die Grenze, die dabei überquert wird, hat mit der Frage von zuschauender Distanz zu und mitspielender Involviertheit in das Spiel zu tun. In Büchners Dantons Tod sieht man als allererstes, wie Danton und Julie dem Revolutionspolitiker Hérault-Séchelles und einer namenlosen Dame beim Kartenspiel zusehen. DANTON. Sieh die hübsche Dame, wie artig sie die Karten dreht! ja wahrhaftig sie versteht's, man sagt sie halte ihrem Manne immer das coeur 3 Büchner (1988), und anderen Leuten das caneau hin? 1/1, 69. Wenn Danton moralisierend hinzufügt: "Ihr könntet einen noch in die Lüge 4 Büdner (1988), 69. verliebt machen." und Julie umstandslos antwortet: "Glaubst Du an mich?", beginnt ihr Gespräch schon, den Bezug zum Spiel zu lockern.
