Objetivo: Determinar las actitudes hacia la investigación de internos de obstetricia rotantes en el Hospital Sergio E. Bernales (HSEB) durante diciembre 2018 a enero 2019. Métodos: Estudio transversal. La población estuvo constituida por internos de obstetricia que realizaban prácticas profesionales a quienes se les aplicó una escala validada de 28 ítems distribuidos en 6 dimensiones, que evaluó actitudes hacia la investigación. Resultados: Participaron del estudio 57 internos de obstetricia. La edad promedio fue de 23,5 ± 2,1 años y 96,5% eran de sexo femenino. El 54,4% de internos presentó actitud regular hacia la investigación científica, el 24,6% tuvo una buena actitud y 21% una mala actitud. El 93,0% de internos estuvo de acuerdo o muy de acuerdo con que la publicación en una revista ayuda a mejorar la práctica clínica, la mayoría se sentía capaz de interpretar un artículo científico (68,4%) y preparados para realizar una investigación relacionada con la carrera (54,3%); por otro lado, consideraban que para realizar investigaciones de calidad en la universidad debían contar con herramientas básicas físicas y virtuales (94,7%) y que el curso de redacción científica debía centrarse en la enseñanza de la elaboración de un artículo (84,2%). La mayoría estuvo muy en desacuerdo y en desacuerdo en optar por otra modalidad de graduación que no sea la tesis (50,9%). Conclusión: Más de la mitad de los internos de obstetricia del HSEB tenían actitud regular hacia la investigación. Los resultados evidencian la necesidad de continuar fortaleciendo y promoviendo la investigación en los estudiantes de obstetricia.
El tocosh es un producto alimenticio obtenido por una técnica de conservación andina y que tiene propiedades nutritivas y terapéuticas. Objetivo: Demostrar la capacidad antioxidante y el efecto citoprotector del tocosh de Solanum tuberosum ‘papa’ en la mucosa gástrica de animales de experimentación. Diseño: Experimental. Institución: Centro de Investigación de Bioquímica y Nutrición, Facultad de Medicina, Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Lima, Perú. Material biológico: Tocosh seco y molido administrado a ratas albinas. Intervenciones: A 6 grupos de ratas albinas machos (200 ± 50 g) se les dividió en: (GI) solución NaCl 0,9%, 10 mL/kg; (GII) etanol al 70% a 10 mL/kg; (GIII, IV y V) Tocosh equivalente a 900 mg/kg, 1 800 mg/kg y 2 700 mg/kg, respectivamente, y (GVI) sucralfato 30 mg/kg. En todos los casos, una hora después se indujo injuria con etanol 70° a 10 mL/kg y por laparotomía abdominal se obtuvo el tejido gástrico. Principales medidas de resultados: Porcentaje de citoprotección gástrica en imagen digitalizada por image analysis software for plant disease quantification y capacidad antioxidante por lipoperoxidación método espectrofotométrico de la reacción de especies reactivas al ácido tiobarbitúrico (TBARS). Resultados: La marcha fitoquímica identificó compuestos fenólicos, alcaloides, triterpenoides y esteroides, azúcares reductores y aminoácidos libres como metabolitos secundarios. Las dosis de 2 700 mg/kg y 900 mg/kg resultaron en 0,72 y 1,81 nmol/g tejido de lipoperoxidación, respectivamente. La dosis de 1 800 mg/kg protegió un 97% del área de la mucosa gástrica, 2 700 mg/kg un 95% y la de 900 mg/kg, 88% (p<0,05). La dosis de 1 800 mg/kg exhibió mejor efecto citoprotector y la de 2 700 mg/kg mejor actividad antioxidante, comparada con sucralfato 30 mg/kg. Conclusiones: El tocosh de Solanum tuberosum ‘papa’ tuvo efecto citoprotector y actividad antioxidante.
Objetivos: determinar la prevalencia de estrés laboral en el personal asistencial prehospitalario del programa de sistema de atención móvil de urgencias -instituto de gestión de servicios de salud SAMU-IGSS en el año 2015. Material y Métodos: investigación descriptiva, cuantitativo, observacional de corte transversal. La población y muestra de estudio estuvo conformada por el total del personal asistencial prehospitalario 158. Se empleó dos instrumentos un cuestionario para la recolección de datos generales compuesta por 8 ítems y otro que fue el Inventario de Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Resultados: los tres grupos ocupacionales de manera semejante presentan 67% de estrés laboral sin diferencia estadística entre ellos; existe diferencia estadística significativa de la mayor frecuencia de estrés laboral (77,3%) en el grupo de 27 a 30 años de edad que en los mayores de 30 años (63,7 a 65,2%); estrés laboral no se presentó estadísticamente diferente entre los solteros (70,4%), casados (71,4%) o divorciados (80,0%), en cambio el grupo de profesionales de condición convivientes fueron los que presentaron menores niveles de estrés laboral (54,4%) que los demás grupos, diferencia con significancia estadística. La universidad es el espacio donde se desarrolla la creatividad y el verdadero espíritu investigador en los estudiantes y los docentes, quienes están comprometidos en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de la investigación, proceso sobre el cual existen diferentes paradigmas, estereotipos, prejuicios y percepciones, que se dan en el contexto socio-cultural. Objetivo: Describir la representación social de los estudiantes de Enfermería de una Facultad de Medicina sobre la enseñanza aprendizaje de la investigación en el pregrado. Diseño: Estudio cualitativo-descriptivo interpretativo fundamentado en la teoría de las representaciones sociales. Institución: Facultad de Medicina, Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Lima, Perú. Participantes: Estudiantes de enfermería del pregrado. Métodos: Se utilizó como técnicas e instrumentos de recolección de datos los grupos focales y la observación libre y sistemática. Principales medidas de resultados: Representación social sobre la enseñanza aprendizaje de la investigación. Resultados: En la representación social de los estudiantes emergieron tres categorías: (1) enfrentando el aprendizaje nuevo, (2) construyendo el proyecto de investigación, y (3) comprendiendo el significado de la investigación. Conclusiones: La representación social de la enseñanza aprendizaje de la investigación de los estudiantes de enfermería se presentó como difícil, compleja, estresante, que se relaciona con la presión y controversias docentes, sobrecarga de tareas y que lleva implícito valores como la perseverancia, dedicación y tiempo. Los momentos considerados como más difíciles y trascendentes son el planteamiento del problema, la operacionalización de variables y la sustentación. Se muestran actitudes favorables a la investigación; sin embargo, existe una dicotomía: “me gusta, pero... además, no tengo tiempo”.
ResumenObjetivos: Evaluar la precisión de laboratorios de análisis clínicos de Lima, en la determinación de glucosa, colesterol y triglicéridos séricos. Diseño: Descriptivo. Lugar: Centro de Investigación de Bioquímica y Nutrición, Facultad de Medicina, UNMSM, y laboratorios clínicos participantes de Lima. Participantes: Muestras séricas de donantes. Intervenciones: Previo consentimiento informado, se envió muestras séricas ciegas duplicadas a 88 laboratorios clínicos, que constituyeron la muestra; el traslado de los sueros fue en cadena de frío de 4 a 6°C. Los resultados fueron recibidos vía correo electrónico y con ellos se obtuvo la media, desviación estándar (DE), coeficiente de variación (CV) y el índice de desviación estándar (SDI); también se valoró la precisión usando la validación de la variabilidad biológica (VB). Principales medidas de resultados: Concentración de glucosa, colesterol y triglicéridos. Resultados: La mayoría (>75%) de los resultados de los laboratorios se encontraron dentro del rango aceptable; hubo laboratorios fuera del rango de control, entre 9,1 a 12,5% de ellos. La evaluación del índice de calidad mediante la variabilidad biológica para la mayoría de laboratorios estuvo en control, sea esta óptima, deseable o mínima; 42% de los laboratorios estuvo fuera de control para la prueba del colesterol, 25% fuera de control para la glucosa y 11,4% para triglicéridos. Los laboratorios con equipos automatizados presentaron mejor precisión. Conclusiones: Los laboratorios clínicos en su mayoría tuvieron buena precisión en las mediciones; sin embargo, aún existen laboratorios con amplia imprecisión en sus resultados, por lo que deben hacerse esfuerzos para mejorar estos índices de calidad. Interventions: Prior informed consent, serum samples were sent in 4-6°C cold chain to 88 blind duplicate clinical laboratories sampled. Results were received via email and arithmetic mean, standard deviation (SD), coefficient of variation (CV) and standard deviation index (SDI) were obtained; accuracy was assessed using the validation of biological variability (BV). Main outcome measures: Glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides levels. Results: The majority (>75%) of laboratory results were within acceptable range; laboratories out of control range were 9,1 to 12,5%.
