Resumo: Trata-se de uma discussão sobre as relações estabelecidas entre mulheres usuárias de serviços de saúde pública e de agentes mediadores na cidade de Natal, para a obtenção e uso de medicações abortivas (Misoprostol/Cytotec®). A análise recai sobre os itinerários abortivos percorridos pelas mulheres na tentativa de obterem a medicação necessária à realização do aborto clandestino. O artigo aborda, também, os tipos de relações estabelecidas com os outros agentes envolvidos nesta rede, levando em consideração fatores como risco, ilegalidade e poucos recursos materiais. Os resultados seguem os seguintes apontamentos: 1. Procura por agentes específicos, com itinerários condicionados ao conhecimento de pessoas que possam chegar ao produto desejado; 2. Finalização combinada ao atendimento posterior em hospitais públicos para a limpeza uterina; 3. Participação dos homens no processo abortivo; 4. Paradoxos de percepção sobre a prática do aborto com um claro recorte geracional entre as profissionais de saúde; 5. Ultrassom e redes sociais como partes integrantes dos itinerários abortivos.
<p>O artigo analisa a forma pela qual as notícias referentes à epidemia do Zika Vírus e sua relação com a microcefalia foram apresentadas em plataformas digitais. Interpretamos os sentidos inscritos e a multiplicidade de discursos no que diz respeito às representações de gênero e suas imbricações sobre a saúde reprodutiva das mulheres. Utilizamos como fonte de investigação as Revistas Época e Carta Capital, e o Jornal Folha de São Paulo em suas versões on-line. Os resultados apontam diferentes vieses ideológicos na construção das notícias, constituídos a partir de discursos religiosos, morais, científicos e políticos, envolvendo temas como saúde, saneamento ambiental, violências institucionais contra as mulheres e crianças vítimas da microcefalia.</p>
Resumo Descreve-se as noções de "terapia" hormonal em cenários medicalizantes nos quais homens transexuais se movem na constituição de transições de gênero. Em meio aos acessos e práticas à (auto)administração de ésteres de testosterona (cipionato e/ou propionato), esses sujeitos acionam a ideia de "terapia" - seja para se afastar ou para reiterá-la -, levando-nos a uma reflexão sobre a atual classificação da transexualidade como doença mental. Realizou-se pesquisa etnográfica em grupos de ativismo trans no Brasil com entrevistas em profundidade no período de 2014 a 2015.
Neste artigo, discuto a presença da dimensão religiosa na biomedicina1 que se manifesta nos discursos, nas práticas e nos comportamentos desses profissionais em Lisboa quando o assunto refere-se ao aborto. Ao mesmo tempo, observo que tal religiosidade não se configura homogeneamente entre os sujeitos, pois muitos ao se declararem objetores de consciência utilizam esse protocolo como poder simbólico,2 afetando as mulheres em seus direitos reprodutivos. Foram realizadas 12 entrevistas semi-estruturadas durante o doutorado-sanduíche com profissionais de saúde que trabalhavam em diferentes instituições hospitalares nesse país.
