Leaders of organizations are responsible for change in their organizations. The person who holds the leadership role is accountable for effecting change. If that person has deficient leadership skills, that could hamper the execution of successful change. Growth can be reduced or minimal without credible leaders at the helm. The purpose of this paper was to discover how a person develops into a leader and how that person affects the progress of their employing organization. Leadership is having the ability to organize and direct an organization. There are several components involved in leading and organizational growth. An examination of the five dimensions of leadership provides the components that are needed to make leaders (Campbell & Samiec, 2005). The components of leadership consist of convincing, joining, visioning, involving, and training others. This process involves constant change, which allows one to have the ability to lead and the opportunity to teach others how to lead.
