Objetivou-se caracterizar o estrato regenerante de um fragmento de Floresta Ombrófila Densa das Terras Baixas, mediante avaliações da riqueza, estrutura e diversidade. Para estimar os índices de regeneração natural por espécie para cada classe de tamanho de planta (RNC), visando à obtenção do índice de regeneração natural total (RNT), foram alocadas, 40 parcelas de 25 m² (5 m x 5 m). A análise foi realizada com indivíduos que apresentaram CAP < 15,0 cm e altura igual ou superior a 1,0 m. As classes de alturas foram pré-determinadas, em que: C1 = 1,0 m-2,0 m; C2 = 2,1 m-3,0 m; C3 = > 3,0 m. Foram amostrados 1.197 indivíduos distribuídos em 81 espécies, 31 famílias e 51 gêneros. A família Fabaceae obteve maior riqueza, seguida por Melastomataceae e Myrtaceae. A espécie Protium heptaphyllum destacou-se com o maior Valor de Importância (VI), apresentando 14,64% do total de VI. As espécies que apresentaram os maiores RNTs foram: Protium heptaphyllum (Aubl.) Marchand, Thyrsodium spruceanum Benth., Eschweilera ovata (Cambess.) Miers e Brosimum guianense (Aubl.) Huber. Em relação à classificação sucessional, houve predominância das espécies de início de sucessão, comprovando a condição jovem da floresta. Os resultados mostram que o fragmento estudado apresenta boa capacidade de regeneração possibilitando maior riqueza e diversidade de espécies do estrato arbóreo adulto à longo prazo.

A escolha de espécies nativas na recuperação de áreas degradadas é importante por causa da relação peculiar com os sítios onde elas se estabeleceram e exigências nutricionais específicas. A eficiência de utilização dos nutrientes dessas espécies pode contribuir para a recomendação de seu uso em áreas degradadas da Floresta Atlântica. Assim, o objetivo desse estudo foi determinar os teores de N, P, K, Ca e Mg de espécies nativas em remanescente de Floresta Ombrófila Densa das Terras Baixas, estimar a biomassa foliar das espécies, calcular o conteúdo dos nutrientes armazenado na biomassa foliar e determinar a eficiência de utilização de nutrientes. Foi realizado um estudo fitossociológico do fragmento e definida dez espécies de maior densidade absoluta. As espécies florestais apresentaram altos teores de N e baixos de P, podendo se estabelecer em ambientes férteis em N e restritivos para P, com exceção das espécies Myrcia silvatica e Tapirira guianensis que podem ser recomendadas para solos com pouca disponibilidade de N. As espécies Thyrsodium spruceanum e Protium heptaphyllum podem ser recomendadas para ambientes com pouca disponibilidade de K e Mg, respectivamente. Em fragmentos florestais de solos com baixa disponibilidade de Ca, a espécie Brosimum rubescens pode ser utilizada para restauração florestal dessas áreas. A eficiência de utilização de nutrientes pode indicar fragmento florestal diversificado, estabelecido e equilibrado nutricionalmente. AbstractThe choice of native species in the recovery of degraded areas is important because of the peculiar relation with the sites where they were established and specific nutritional requirements. The nutrient utilization efficiency of these species can contribute to recommendations of their use in degraded areas of the Atlantic Forest. Thus, the objective of this study was to determine the N, P, K, Ca, and Mg nutrient concentrations of native species in a remnant of Lowland Dense Shade Forest, to estimate foliar biomass; to calculate the stored nutrients and the nutrient utilization efficiency. A phytosociological study of the fragment was carried out and the ten species with the highest absolute densities were defined. The forest species presented high content of N and low of P, being able to be established in environments rich in N and low in P, with the exception of Myrcia silvatica and Tapirira guianensis, which can be recommended for soils with low N availability. Thyrsodium spruceanum and Protium heptaphyllum can be recommended for environments with low K and Mg availability, respectively. Brosimum rubescens can be used for forest restoration in fragments of soils with low Ca availability. The nutrient utilization efficiency may indicate a nutritionally balanced forest fragment, diversified and established.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the arboreal component of a Dense Ombrophilous Lowland Forest fragment through evaluations of richness, structure and diversity. For the sampling of this component, we implanted 40 sample units of 10 × 25 m. We measured all arboreal individuals who presented circumference at breast height ≥ 15 cm, 1.30 m from the ground level. The tree stratum presented 1324 individuals, 100 species, 64 genera and 38 families. The Fabaceae family had the highest wealth and Anacardiaceae was the most abundant. The Shannon index and Pielou equability were 3.60 nats.ind.-1 and 0.78, respectively, suggesting the existence of relevant ecological dominance in the community. The results of this work emphasize the ecological importance of this remnant for maintaining the local flora and fauna, also emphasizing the importance of preserving Atlantic Ombrophilous Forests, particularly in the Zona da Mata of Pernambuco.

Este trabalho teve por objetivo caracterizar a composição florística do estrato arbóreo em área de nascente e classificar as espécies nos respectivos grupos ecológicos. O estudo foi desenvolvido no entorno da nascente do Córrego do Campo, localizada no Engenho Buranhém, pertencente à Usina Trapiche S/A, em Sirinhaém, PE. O levantamento florístico foi realizado entre setembro de 2008 e novembro de 2009, para o qual foram alocadas 10 parcelas de 10 x 25 m, dispostas em raios, distibuídas acima da nascente de forma sistemática em 5 linhas (2 parcelas por linha), separadas por um ângulo de 45º cada. Em relação aos grupos ecológicos, as espécies foram classificadas como pioneiras, secundárias iniciais, secundárias tardias e sem caracterização. Foram amostrados 309 indivíduos, pertencentes a 27 famílias botânicas, 46 gêneros e 58 espécies. Dessas espécies, seis foram identificadas apenas em nível de gênero, três em nível de família e uma não foi identificada. Quanto à classificação sucessional, as espécies de início de sucessão apresentaram maior número de indivíduos, demonstrando características de uma floresta em estádio inicial no desenvolvimento sucessional. A distribuição diamétrica tende a seguir uma função exponencial negativa, com maior frequência de indivíduos nas classes de diâmetros menores, caracterizando estádio de regeneração inicial.Palavras-chave: Córrego, florística, grupos ecológicos. Floristics and ecological succession of the arboreal vegetation in the spring area of an Atlantic forest fragment, Pernambuco, Brazil ABSTRACTThis paper aims to characterize the floristic composition of the arboreal stratum in a spring area and to classify the species into their respective ecological groups. The study was developed in the surrounding of the spring of Córrego do Campo, located in Engenho Buranhém, belonging to Usina Trapiche S/A, in Sirinhaém, PE, Brazil. The floristic survey was carried out between September 2008 and November 2009. For its development, 10 plots with 10x25m placed in radius in the target area and distributed in a systematic form in 5 lines (2 plots per line), separated by an angle of 45°, were used. Regarding the ecological groups, the species were classified as pioneers, initial secondary, late secondary and without characterization. 309 individuals, belonging to 27 botanical families, 46 genders and 58 species were sampled. From these species, six were identified only at gender level, three at family level and one was not identified. In relation to the successional classification, the species in the beginning of the succession showed a larger number of individuals, presenting characteristics of a forest in an initial state in the successional development. The diameter distribution follows a negative exponential function with greater individuals frequency in smaller diameter classes, demonstrating characteristics of a initial regeneration state.
