Resumo: Trata-se de um recorte de pesquisa concluída no âmbito do Mestrado Profissional em Educação em Ciências e Matemática no IFES. Nesse artigo, apresentamos as discussões sobre um curso de Extensão desenvolvido através do Centro de Referência em Formação e Ead/Cefor/IFES. O referido curso objetivou proporcionar às comunidades escolar e local um processo formativo participativo no sentido de discutir fragilidades de práticas realizadas em escolas e/ou espaços que trabalham a Educação Ambiental. Para tanto, foi utilizada uma metodologia de intervenção de caráter participativo à luz de Tozzoni Reis (2007), cujo debate oportunizou discussões, reflexões e indicações por meio do diálogo entre os diferentes saberes. Neste artigo, foram analisados três encontros desenvolvidos durante o referido curso. É possível inferir, que cursos de formação continuada, envolvendo a comunidade escolar e local, abrem caminhos que podem contribuir para explicitar contradições concretas na busca de estratégias coletivas para superá-las na linha de uma educação com qualidade socioambiental como direito.
Este artigo objetiva apresentar os resultados de uma pesquisa de mestrado profissional, que foi desenvolvida no contexto de alunos do 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental, a partir da aplicação de uma sequência didática, abordando conteúdos de ciências, que contribua para a iniciação da alfabetização científica dos alunos participantes. Partiu-se do pressuposto de que as orientações epistemológicas do enfoque CTS/CTSA (Ciência, Tecnologia, Sociedade e Ambiente), contribuem para a alfabetização científica dos alunos dos Anos Iniciais, como também, propiciam às atividades maior contextualização e significado. A temática “A Ciência no meu cotidiano”, foi elaborada em uma sequência didática baseada no Ensino por Investigação e nos três momentos pedagógicos. Os dados foram coletados por meio de observação, fotografias, registros escritos e pós-teste. Os principais resultados indicam que as atividades da sequência didática contribuíram para o avanço progressivo dos conhecimentos dos alunos, em relação à área de ciências e iniciação à alfabetização científica, e contribuíram, também, para tornar a aprendizagem mais contextualizada e interdisciplinar.
