On March 2, 2020, the first case of the COVID-19 pandemic was recorded in Indonesia (source: www.kemkes.go.id), and due to its rapid spread within a short period, on March 17, 202, the Indonesian government declared the virus as a National Disaster through Presidential Decree No. 12 of 2020. In the midst of the government's efforts to break the COVID-19 chain through various policies, a disinfodemic phenomenon emerged, with the spread of hoaxes in Indonesia and all over the world. Disinfodemics have a destructive impact on efforts to tackle the virus and restore the national economy. It also has the potential to cause conflict in the community. One of the efforts to deal with this is by ensuring the dissemination of positive and accurate information related to the pandemic. Hence, adequate human resource capacity within the scope of government public relations is needed. Although, the government's public relations performance in tackling hoaxes has been running adequately, it needs to be optimized. Therefore, this research seeks to analyze the governments and develop public relations human resources ability in dealing with the disinfodemic phenomenon.
