A complexidade do processo de avaliação e tratamento de feridas pode desencadear sentimentos de insegurança por parte de profissionais inexperientes. Isto é comum entre estudantes de enfermagem, durante o processo de aprendizado do tema. Este estudo teve como objetivo conhecer a percepção do graduando de enfermagem acerca do processo de ensino/aprendizagem do tratamento de feridas. Trata-se de estudo descritivo-exploratório, realizado em uma Universidade Privada, em Goiânia, Goiás. Para o grupo pesquisado, o significado do tratamento de feridas esteve relacionado ao cuidado de enfermagem enquanto prática profissional, que favorece a diminuição do sofrimento, prevenção de complicações e conseqüente cura, não somente tecidual, mas também “estética” e psicológica do portador da ferida. Os fatores apresentados como facilitadores do processo de ensino foram, principalmente, a orientação de professor capacitado, uso de estratégias de ensino eficazes que associava teoria e prática. Três fatores foram apontados como dificultadores do processo de ensino: falta de associação teoria e prática, carga horária prática insuficiente, falta de recursos materiais e estrutura física adequada. Desta forma, as Instituições que oferecem o curso de enfermagem precisam preocupar-se em oferecer: estrutura que favoreça o processo de ensino, e professores capacitados.
