Objective: To investigate the difficulties experienced by mothers, that influence the failure of Exclusive Breast Feeding.Method: qualitative study, exploratory and descriptive. There were semi-structured interviews with 14 women. The data treatment occurred by means of the content analysis, in the form of thematic analysis.Results: Mammary complications; negative influences of familiar; job out of home and various household duties; insufficient information and weaknesses in communication among professionals of prenatal care; insertion of artificial teats (bottles) in the hospital.

RESUMOObjetivo: compreender a importância e as dificuldades que as mulheres encontram na adesão ao aleitamento materno exclusivo. Método: estudo de abordagem qualitativa, do tipo exploratório e descritivo. Foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com 14 mulheres. O tratamento dos dados se deu mediante a análise de conteúdo, na modalidade da análise temática. Resultados: a maioria das mulheres revelou conhecer a importância e os benefícios do aleitamento materno, por ser uma prática importante e por proporcionar uma boa condição de saúde e desenvolvimento ao filho. Aspectos que beneficiam a mulher que amamenta foram explicitados, porém, em menor intensidade quando comparável às relacionadas à saúde do bebê.Conclusão: Acentua-se a necessidade de incorporar práticas além da dimensão biológica, compreender as particularidades de cada mulher e incentivar o cuidar-se como importante para si.Descritores: Aleitamento Materno; Saúde da Mulher; Saúde da Criança.
Objetivo: analisar a assistência do enfermeiro da Estratégia Saúde da Família no âmbito do apoio ao aleitamento materno exclusivo, baseado na percepção de nutrizes. Métodos: pesquisa de caráter descritivo e exploratório, com abordagem qualitativa. Os sujeitos da pesquisa serão nutrizes que amamentam exclusivamente até o quarto mês e que realizaram o pré-natal com os enfermeiros da Estratégia Saúde da Família de Caicó. As entrevistas semiestruturadas serão analisadas através do método do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo que permite definir expressões-chave de cada depoimento e extrair ideias centrais fundamentais ao conteúdo descritivo verbalizado pelos sujeitos. O projeto de pesquisa foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (Protocolo 067/2010). Resultados Esperados: conhecer a assistência prestada às nutrizes pelo enfermeiro durante o pré-natal e os quatro primeiros meses pós-parto, possibilitando avaliar de que forma acontece o apoio ao aleitamento materno exclusivo na Estratégia Saúde da Família do município. Esses resultados poderão indicar caminhos de reflexão acerca da prática de enfermagem ao processo de amamentação e sugerir estratégias de superação das dificuldades enfrentadas na prática promocional ao aleitamento materno exclusivo.
