O presente trabalho relata a proposta de um estudo do meio interdisciplinar e metacognitivo realizado na formação inicial de professores. Os objetivos centrais eram que os licenciandos reconhecessem o estudo do meio como um importante componente curricular para o desenvolvimento da interdisciplinaridade, exercitassem atividades metacognitivas, desenvolvessem autonomia na escolha de temas passíveis de serem abordados na escola básica e delimitassem problemas gerados por projetos coletivos de ensino. Desejávamos, também, sensibilizar os alunos para a percepção das condições concretas necessárias à realização de um estudo do meio. Foram montados grupos mistos compostos por integrantes dos cursos de Ciências Biológicas e Educação Física. A tarefa desses grupos era, a partir de um estudo do meio proposto pela universidade, elaborar um projeto de estudo do meio para a escola básica. Consideramos o trabalho inovador principalmente por sua natureza metacognitiva. Os alunos vivenciaram um estudo do meio e refletiram sobre sua própria aprendizagem na ocasião e sobre o potencial de ensino desse tipo de atividade na escola básica. O trabalho permitiu a integração entre teoria e prática, na medida em que temas complexos como a interdisciplinaridade, a aprendizagem por projetos e o próprio estudo do meio, que costumam ser abordados a partir de referenciais teóricos, puderam ser vivenciados. Além de conceitos e procedimentos, a experiência possibilitou o trabalho com conteúdos atitudinais, pois a convivência com o diferente e a exigência de saber ouvir, negociar, planejar conjuntamente e administrar conflitos em prol do atendimento dos objetivos comumente estabelecidos estavam presentes.
A Base Nacional Comum Curricular é o documento que concretiza a atual política curricular em nosso país, por meio da seleção de um conjunto de aprendizagens essenciais à formação básica. Dada a sua relevância educacional, neste artigo analisamos a versão final desse documento, publicada em 2018, com o objetivo de verificarmos se elementos do multiculturalismo estão contemplados em seu texto geral e na parte específica da área de Ciências da Natureza. Para tanto, foram selecionados excertos que faziam menção aos fundamentos éticos e a tratamentos direcionados à pluralidade e foi feita a análise das habilidades designadas para a área da Ciências da Natureza Ensino Fundamental I e II. Como resultado, identificamos que, embora a BNCC utilize argumentos pautados na defesa da igualdade de direitos às diversidades, apenas 1% das habilidades para as Ciências utilizam verbos associados à aprendizagem de valores. Além disso, a presença de habilidades potencialmente muito associadas ao multiculturalismo foi considerada reduzida e, em certos casos, superficial. Essa participação tímida do multiculturalismo na Base é um resultado preocupante, revelando o quão distante estamos de abordamos o pluralismo além de um mero acordo moral.
Este trabalho tem como objetivo partilhar nossa experiência com o uso de diários de estudo como meios de avaliação no ensino superior. Chamamos de diários de estudo a produção contínua e reflexiva realizada por alunos de um curso de Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas, no contexto da avaliação formativa. São apresentados e comentados excertos dessas produções, com vistas a apresentar seu potencial mediador na construção e avaliação da aprendizagem universitária. Levantamos, também, algumas dificuldades de implementação de seu uso nas universidades. Esperamos com isso oferecer dados que possam incentivar o uso de diários reflexivos como estratégias de formação e avaliação, não só em cursos de Licenciatura, mas também em outras áreas, de modo a desenvolvermos profissionais mais autônomos e críticos acerca de suas práticas.
