La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general mejorar las competencias lectoras a través del uso de herramientas digitales en estudiantes de básica superior. Se desarrolló bajo un diseño no experimental aplicando un cuestionario con escala de Likert a 34 estudiantes, cuya fiabilidad fue valorada a través del Coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach. Los resultados de esta investigación demostraron el 79,4% de los estudiantes usa herramientas digitales y el 85,3% considera que estas permiten mejorar la comprensión lectora. Este proceso estadístico fue desarrollado mediante SPSS y se realizó un análisis de normalidad, que demostró que todas las variables del instrumento fueron paramétricas, un análisis de frecuencia para determinar el uso de las herramientas digitales y un análisis descriptivo para identificar la herramienta que se ajuste a las preferencias de los estudiantes. Estos datos permitieron estructurar la propuesta que plantea formas de emplear la herramienta Quizziz para mejorar las competencias de lectura.
