El presente estudio tiene el objetivo del estudio de determinar cuáles son los juegos más frecuentes, en los cuales participan los niños del cuarto año de educación primaria, en el ámbito de un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo y transversal, de diseño de diagnóstico, en una muestra de 51 niños, a quienes, previa autorización de los padres, se les aplicó la técnica denominada encuesta, con un instrumento: el cuestionario de veinte ítems: diez para los recreos libres y diez para los juegos dirigidos. Los resultados muestran que de los diez juegos libres, los tres juegos más frecuentes son: a las escondidas (92.2%), gallinita ciega (84.3%) y gato y ratón (78.4%). De los diez juegos libres, los tres juegos más experimentados son: a las escondidas (92.2%), gallinita ciega (84.3%) y gato y ratón (78.4%). Se concluye que los recreos libres y dirigidos generan un desarrollo multidimensional, en cuyos juegos participan los niños.
