V e n n die Lufttemperatur 93 C iibersteigt,,,verlassen die Kafer die Winterquartiere. Sie suchen zunachst Friihlingsbliiten in der Nahe der Winterquartiere auf. Die Mannchen besitzen zu dieser Zeit bereits gereifte Geschlechtsorgane. Die Weibchen sind noch nicht geschlechtsreif. Sie fiihren daher zunachst einen Reifefrag an Fruhlingsbliiten durch. Sobald die Lufttemperaturen auf iiber 15' C ansteigen, fliegen die Kafer auf die Rapsfelder iiber. Die Weibchen suchen den Raps jedoch erst nach beendigtem Reifefrafi auf. Bei spat einsetzendem Friihjahr mit plotzlicher starker Erwarmung konnen sie nach Beobachtungen von NOLTE (1954) auch schon im unreifen Zustande dort erscheinen, ohne einen Reifefraf3 an Friihlingsbluten, die in solchen Jahren auch meist noch nicht vorhanden sind, durchgefiihrt zu haben. Uber das Auftreten anderer Vertreter der Gattung Meligethes als Rapsschadlinge finden sich in der Literatur nur vereinzelte Angaben. M. viridescens wird von verschiedenen Autoren (BURKHARDT und v. LENGERKEN [1920], FRIEDERICHS [1921], v. KIRCHNER [1923]) als mitbeteiligt an den Glanzkaferschaden des Ra,pses bezeichnet, ORMEROD (1874) sowie BURKHARDT und ~. L E N G E R K E N (1920) konnten in bezug auf die Biologie keine Unter-FKITZSCHL. 224 schiede im Vergleich zu M . aeneus feststellen. BLUNCY (1921b) dagegen bcobachtetc, daIl M. viridescens vor allem die Gattung Raphanus a h Brutpflanzen bevorzugt. Das Auftreten beider Arten fie1 nach seinen Untersuchungen (Naumburg 1920) zusatnnicn. W'ihrend EXT (1920) vermutete, da13 M . viridescens das Feld friiher rzunit als M . arneus, fand BI.C'NCK (1921b) Ende Juli noch das gleiche Zahlenverhaltnis beider Arten wie im Juni. Gegeniiber dem Auftreten im Mai schien es sich eher zugunsten von M . viridescens verschoben zu haben. Im Verhalten hinsichtlich der Oberwinterung bestehen nach den Untcrsuchungen von H.-J.
