Das bisher unbekannte Carbonyl-isocyanat-isothiocyanat (1) wird durch Umsetzen von Carbonyl-chlorid-isocyanat 3, mit einem Molaquivalent Ammoniumrhodanid in getrocknetem flussigem Schwefeldioxid erhalten. WLhrend der Reaktion mussen die Rhodanid-Ionen immer im UnterschuR sein, da diese mit schon gebildetem 1 reagieren.Flussiges Schwefeldioxid ist als Medium fiir Umsetzungen von Ammoniumrhodanid mit aktiven Halogeniden zu empfehlen, denn 100 g SO, ldsen bei 0°C 46.8 g Ammoniumrhodanid, aber z. B. nur 0.009 g Ammonium~hlorid~). Das Ammoniumhalogenid fallt also aus und kann abfiltriert werden. Niedrig siedende Isothiocyanate wie 1 (Sdp. 32-33 "C/13 Torr) lassen sich von organischen LBsemitteln wie Tetrahydrofuran nur schwierig abtrennen. Fliissiges SO, kann dagegen bei tiefen Temperaturen abdestilliert werden. Auch empfindliche Acylpseudohalogenide sind in dem aprotischen, nicht basischen und infolge seiner hohen Verdampfungswarme (25 kJmo1-l) leicht zu handhabenden Losemittel Schwefeldioxid relativ stabil.Chem.
