Carbonyl DiisothiocyaneteA cheap synthesis of carbonyl diisothiocyanate (1) from ammonium thiocyanate and phosgene is reported. As a strong electrophil 1 forms the &substituted 2-thioxo-l.3,5-thiadiazine-4-ones 4 -7
Synthesen von Ethoxalyl-isothiocyanat (l), Oxalyl-diisothiocyanat (3), Oxalyl-chlorid-isothiocyanat (4) und Oxalyl-bromid-isothiocyanat (16) werden beschrieben. Durch thermische Decarbonylierung von 4 bzw. 16 erhalt man das Carbonyl-chlorid-isothiocyanat (7) bzw. Carbonylbromid-isothiocyanat (17). Oxalyl Isothiocyanates and Carbonyl Halogenide IsothiocyanatesPreparations of ethoxalyl isothiocyanate (l), oxalyl diisothiocyanate (3), oxalyl chloride isothiocyanate (4), and oxalyl bromide isothiocyanate (16) are described. Thermal decarbonylation of 4 and 16 leads to carbonyl chloride isothiocyanate (7) and carbonyl bromide isothiocyanate (13, resp. Some reactions of the new oxalyl and carbonyl pseudohalogenides are given.
About the Preparation and Chlorination of Carbonyl DiisothiocyanateAn improved preparation of carbonyl diisothiocyanate (1) is described. Compound 1 can be stored in form of its stable hydrochloride 3. Depending on the reaction conditions chlorination of 1 leads to the acyl isocyanide dichlorides 5 or 8. Compound 5 reacts with amines to give: the triazines 9 a -c , the ammelines l l a , b, the guanidines 12 and 16a, or the acylcarbodiimides 14 and 15. With sodium phenolate 5 forms the dialkylidene urea 17, and with thiolates the derivatives 18a -c of dithiocarbonic acid. Compound 8 reacts with thiophenolate to give 19 and with tert-butylamine to yield the carbamoylcarbodiimide 20.In einer fruheren Arbeit ') beschrieben wir die Umsetzung von Phosgen rnit Ammoniumrhodanid in Tetrahydrofuran zu Carbonyl-diisothiocyanat (1).
