Barry a pour tâche de se tenir au niveau atteint par l'édition et par l'illustration. Ce n'est pas chose facile. Il y arrive fort bien. Pour une oeuvre de poésie, il fallait quelque peu se faire lyrique, mais que ce lyrisme ne tombe pas dans le ridicule. Un habile équilibre entre l'abstrait et le concret, l'emploi d'images amples et sonores, le va-et-vient entre la technicité précise des termes et les évocations vaporeuses de la pure beauté créent un rythme tout à fait particulier, qui envoûte, qui parfois enivre au point qu'on risque de se perdre un peu. Qu'on se rassure ! Si dans les premiers cahiers, l'auteur qui mêle dans son exposé descriptions, sentiments, visions, est un peu difficile à suivre, plus loin on s'accroche au fil conducteur et on avance d'un pied ferme.
