O objetivo desse trabalho foi realizar uma revisão de literatura sobre o efeito do hipoclorito de sódio na retenção de pinos de fibra de vidro. Uma busca por artigos foi feita em bases eletrônicas de dados (Pubmed, Bireme e Scielo). Os resumos foram selecionados de acordo com o tema proposto, baixados e lidos para inserir no trabalho somente os pontos principais de cada trabalho e, assim, formular a revisão de literatura com informações atuais sobre o assunto proposto. A discussão foi realizada para compreender os resultados e chegar a considerações finais da revisão fazendo uma conexão com a prática clínica. As conclusões foram baseadas na hipótese de que o hipoclorito de sódio tem efeito negativo na retenção de pinos de fibra de vidro. A presente revisão de literatura mostrou, a partir dos achados dos estudos, que o uso do hipoclorito de sódio pode interferir na retenção de pinos de fibra de vidro ao canal radicular, principalmente quando a irrigação final com EDTA 17% não é realizada.
Resumo Próteses fixas com infraestrutura de metal ou cerâmica apresentam muitas falhas devido ao lascamento da cerâmica vítrea de cobertura. Assim, próteses monolíticas produzidas com apenas um material foram desenvolvidas no intuito de diminuir estas falhas. Cerâmicas à base de zircônia tiveram suas propriedades ópticas modificadas para permitir a confecção de próteses monolíticas. Portanto, o objetivo deste estudo foi verificar através de uma revisão da literatura o comportamento mecânico e clínico das próteses monolíticas à base de zircônia. Foi feita uma busca na base de dados PubMed/Medline (2010 a 2017) utilizando as palavras-chave: zircônia (zirconia), monolítica (monolithic) e prótese (prosthesis). Foram selecionados 13 estudos laboratoriais e 5 estudos clínicos. Os estudos laboratoriais mostraram que próteses monolíticas à base de zircônia apresentam alta resistência à fratura, à fadiga e ao lascamento. Próteses com espessura mínima de 0,7 mm devem ser confeccionadas para que sejam suficientemente resistentes às cargas impostas pela mastigação, tendo carga de fratura semelhante a coroas metalocerâmicas. Os estudos clínicos relatam baixas taxas de falha para esse tratamento protético. Próteses monolíticas à base de zircônia apresentam comportamento mecânico e clínico favorável para a reabilitação da região posterior.
IntroduçãoAo longo das últimas décadas, há uma busca crescente por melhores condições estéticas e tratamentos clareadores, que se mostram eficazes, seguros e com bons resultados 1 . O clareamento dental é a técnica menos invasiva e mais conservadora, porém pode apresentar algumas desvantagens, como sensibilidade, ulcerações nos tecidos moles e, por vezes, toxicidade 2 . Portanto, o profissional deve ter experiência com o mecanismo de ação e conhecimento da segurança biológica dos agentes clareadores, para poder indicá-los de forma correta e orientar seus pacientes sobre o tratamento. Existem várias técni-cas de clareamento, como o clareamento caseiro com moldeira individual, o clareamento em consultório e o clareamento combinado, que associa as técnicas de consultório e caseira. As indicações e os tipos de clareamento estão relacionados às alterações de cor, que podem ser causadas por fatores extrínsecos ou intrínsecos 3,4 , e às características do paciente.Entretanto, estudos mostram que o peróxido de hidrogênio é um agente oxidante com alta capacidade de penetração no esmalte e na dentina devido ao seu baixo peso molecular 2 e, dependendo da técnica empregada, da quantidade de sessões, do tempo de exposição e da concentração do agente clareador, pode acarretar efeitos indesejáveis, como a sensibilidade e a alteração da morfologia do esmalte [5][6][7][8][9] .
