Los meningiomas intraventriculares son de ocurrencia rara, especialmente los del cuarto ventr~culo, de los cuales en la literatura revisada, hemos encontrado tlnicamente cuatro, descritos por Abbott y Courville 1, Cushing 2 de un caso operado por S(lchs; D. Petit-Dutaillis y S. Daum 3; y Vogel y Stevenson 4Por nuestra parte en el transcurso de los 3 filtimos afios hemos tenido oeasi6n de operar dos casos de meningiomas del cuarto ventriculo, verificados histol6gicamente.Llama la atenci6n el hecho de encontrar dos casos tan poco frecuentes, en medio de una estadistica queen tumores de la rosa posterior, aleanza apenas a 24 easos. Es notable tambi6n que los dos casos presentados hayan ocurrido en nifios por debajo de los 12 afios en los cuales todo tipo de meningioma de fosa posterior es raro. CasoI.J. P. S., 8 afios, ingresa al servizio el 4 de septiembre de 1951 con la siguiente historia neurol6gica:Antecedentes personales y familiares sin imporlancia. La enfermedad se inici6 hace 4 meses con v6mito matutino sin n~tuseas; hace dos meses apareci6 cefalea frontal de mayor intensidad en la tarde y en la noehe-que fu6 progresando hasta hacerse continua. Hace un rues, su marcha que era perfetamente normal, se alter6 r~tpidamente hasta llegar a la imposibilidad de tenerse en pies por lo que tuvo que permanecer en cama, en donde desde hace 10 dias, adopt6 la posici6n de opist6tonos, a la vez la cefalea aument6 hasta desesperarle. E1 nifio refiere que ha perdido la visi6n por el ojo izquierdo y que la del ojo derecho ha disminuido desde hace l0 dlas. A1 examen fisico no se apreeia nada importante. Presi6n arterial 11 y 6, pulso 88/m.
