Este trabajo presenta la propuesta de diseño de un sistema generador eléctrico sustentable de baja potencia. Esto, a través de la conversión de energía hidráulica que se obtiene de transferir el total de recolección de agua pluvial (proveniente de lluvia) de contenedores localizados en el techo de viviendas/edificios a contenedores de almacenamiento. Por lo tanto, se busca entregar una alternativa sustentable respecto a métodos convencionales alimentados directa e indirectamente por combustibles fósiles. La propuesta se compone de dos elementos principales: 1.- Sistema de cosecha de agua, y 2.-Sistema de conversión de energía hidráulica a eléctrica. Para validar y caracterizar las capacidades de producción del sistema, se empleó una metodología experimental que consta de pruebas de producción utilizando una plataforma experimental equivalente (con condiciones controladas). También, se describe el proceso de modelado matemático, diseño y propuesta de instrumentación. Finalmente, de los resultados obtenidos se brinda un breve análisis y conclusiones.
