Com foco no desenvolvimento das habilidades orais, audição e fala, o método era completamente antagônico ao anterior e proibia o ensino dedutivo da gramática, tradução e uso da língua materna. Instituído no Brasil no ano de 1931, pela Reforma Francisco Campos, foi o primeiro método a ser definido através da legislação no país. Revolucionário para a época, o método direto ganhou grandes defensores no Brasil. Assim, é objetivo desse artigo, analisar a lei que definiu o método direto como o de eleição para o ensino das línguas vivas no Brasil, além de perceber como se deu a sua recepção por educadores, que escreveram livros sobre esse tipo de ensino no país.Palavras-chave: Método direto, ensino de inglês, Reforma Francisco Campos, recepção

preocupada com todos os aspectos que envolvem o ensino de línguas, o que fez com que o objetivo do professor de idiomas e estudiosos desse campo, fosse, por muito tempo, a busca pelo melhor método a ser empregado. Essas questões, no entanto, vêm sendo modificadas com o desenvolvimento da linguís-tica crítica, que agregou ao professor um papel de formador de cidadãos, não sendo suficiente apenas ensinar o idioma. É objetivo deste artigo, fazer um levantamento sobre os principais métodos e abordagens utilizados para o ensino de língua estrangeira, mais especificamente de língua inglesa, destacando os seus objetivos educacionais. Após esse levantamento inicial, foi feita uma análise sobre o papel do professor em sala de aula, que, diante deste novo cenário educacional, precisa conciliar os conhecimentos linguísticos que serão transmitidos com as novas discussões da linguística aplicada sobre as teorias de multiletramentos, as questões culturais e o processo de (re) construção identitária, possibilitados a partir do trabalho textual. As coronavirus pandemic has spread all over the world, schools and universities needed to reinvent themselves so that their students could be remotely assisted. In this context, this paper aims to present and detail the experiences of English without Borders Program at the Federal University of XXX with Remote Teaching, highlighting the actions related to the planning sessions, as well as the difficulties teachers and coordinators faced and the adjustments that were necessary. The analysis was carried out using the case study methodology, with teachers' feedback collected from pedagogical meetings and questionnaires sent by e-mail. The remote teaching modality was contrasted with e-learning, and among the conclusions presented, it was evidenced that the initial difficulties with the promotion of interactions among students were reduced when the feeling of community identity built during the classes was perceived. The teacher training process developed to assist scholarship holders in this new educational scenario was also endorsed as a differential of the program, with the indication that sharing experiences with remote education is necessary so that educators can be prepared for a future surrounded for uncertainties.
O programa Inglês sem Fronteiras, instituído no Brasil em dezembro de 2012, vem, desde então, trabalhando em prol da internacionalização das IES, estando, entre seus objetivos, o de proporcionar um programa de formação inicial e continuada para os seus professores bolsistas. O objetivo deste artigo é o de analisar o projeto de formação de professores desenvolvido pelo NucLi da Universidade Federal de Sergipe, relatando as concepções teóricas que norteiam as preparações das aulas e atividades desenvolvidas, com destaque para temas tais como ensino comunicativo, letramento crítico, princípios da condição pós-método e estabelecimento de um ambiente que propicie práticas para formação de um professor crítico-reflexivo. Nesse sentido, são apresentados dados colhidos em pesquisa feita com os professores do programa em 2014 e 2016, com o objetivo de verificar o modo pelo qual esses conceitos foram trabalhados e como as aulas do IsF foram ministradas a partir desses conceitos. Foi possível verificar, por meio da análise das falas dos professores bolsistas do IsF, colhidas por meio de 10 questionários aplicados, as percepções desses professores, constatando-se que todos os bolsistas que finalizaram suas atividades em 2016 puderam perceber o seu desenvolvimento como professor, creditando esse sucesso às dinâmicas desenvolvidas pela coordenação, e que levaram a situações de análise crítica individual e coletiva.
