Firstly, I would like to thank to my family, and in a very special way to my parents and my sister for always being present despite the distance. They are my reason I wake up stronger every day and I continue this difficult journey without them. I wish to thank to my husband, Emilio, for being my main support, for walking beside me at all times, for his dedication and unconditional love, simply my best friend. I am very grateful to my advisor, Professor Guilherme Simon da Rosa, for his wisdom and patience, for sharing his knowledge and teaching me tirelessly, for being the light and backbone of this work. This goal would not have been possible without his unconditional guide. It has been a great pleasure working with him. I would like to thank to all my friends and colleagues for supporting me in one or another way, especially to Adila, David, Randy, Julio, Dayrene, Adrián, Reinier, Johnes, Yoiz and Pedro. I want to thank to CETUC and all its professors and workers for giving me a warm welcome and make me feel at home. I would like to thank to PUC-Rio for the exemption of school fees offered by the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Elétrica.
