As incubadoras de empresas de base tecnológica representam uma grande fonte de estímulo no fomento ao desenvolvimento econômico apoiando micro e pequenas empresas de base tecnológica, oferecendo infraestrutura, assessoria e apoio, aspectos fundamentais para o sucesso de novos empreendimentos. Esta dissertação caracterizou e descreveu a constituição, diferenças, e as formas de atuação de 03 incubadoras presentes na cidade de Manaus (UEA, INPA e CIDE), e como essas diferenças impactam nos processos internos. Além de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, realizou-se o levantamento de informações por meio de entrevistas com os gestores das incubadoras, contemplando questões relativas aos resultados percebidos, as principais dificuldades encontradas no processo e, consequentemente, possibilidades e necessidades de estudos futuros sobre o tema. Os resultados deste estudo mostram que as conexões com atores dos ecossistemas são importantes para gerar informações e recursos cruciais para as o desempenho das incubadoras e, de modo conclusivo, a natureza jurídica gera influência na forma de funcionamento, pois determina as fontes de recursos, o compromisso institucional e as conexões realizadas com os atores do ecossistema de inovação local.
