Abstract In this article, we investigate the potential and limitations of using GeoGebra 3D in the teaching and learning processes of Spatial Geometry, specifically polyhedrons. For this, a workshop was applied to 17 Mathematics graduates from a public educational institution, which was followed by a teaching activity focused on the study of polyhedrons and their properties. At the end, an evaluative questionnaire about the workshop and the activity performed was applied. The Three Worlds of Mathematics is the theoretical referencethat supports the discussions. Activity reviews indicate good knowledge of participants with the use of the application and the concepts involved. In addition, the analysis of the questionnaire reveals that the participants identify potentialities for teaching polyhedronsusing the application.
AbstractWe present a situation of mathematics learning in which one can observe the development of Advanced Mathematical Thinking processes as representation, translation, visualization and generalization and the role the interaction of algorithmic, intuitive and formal aspects plays in the development of these processes. Keywords: Advanced Mathematical Thinking; Algorithmic, intuitive and formal aspects.
